The world premiere took place at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles, and the second production took place at the Players Theatre Off-Broadway in New York City. The original production of Assistants was the winner of the 2015 Encore Producers’ Award, representing the best of the Hollywood Fringe as selected by venue producers, based on artistic merit and commercial potential
. It also won the 2015 Stage Scene L.A. Award for Best Full-Length World-Premiere Musical in the Hollywood Fringe.

Plot Summary: Everyone is invited to a backstage tour of Hollywood where dreams are made, celebrities are born, and the assistants have more power than even they realize. When TV’s biggest showrunner announces a new career direction, it sends her assistant Tara—and the rest of Los Angeles—into a frenzy. Navigating the industry proves harder than expected for the Assistants as secret alliances are made, trust is manipulated, and emotions get in the way of business.
